...and here I am just barely sitting down to write an update to my life.

It's been insanity for the past several months. I start a new job this coming Monday which is a graveyard shift, but at least I get full benefits and more hours to help support my family which is paramount.

As for drawings...? I have several. But haven't had to ability to get them scanned in, as my connection at home died out and also my scanner decided to be buggy and not want to scan properly since mid September. Ugh! Finally got that cleared up at least... and all to find out that it was an I-D-10-T error. On my part. *headdesk*

In home news: I have a new kitty! His name is Malcolm Saiba Haapala. I call him "Mal" for short. He is adorable and I will have to post pictures if he would sit still long enough for me to take them.

So, I ended up with a new part time job finally. Technically, it's my old job (father in law rehired me to do data entry for his company and to get me off my ass and quit eating bon bons all day long... his words, not mine!)

I'm starting to post my other hobby here, earrings I have made over the summer to sell at artisan faires and craft shows to make some extra cash here for the household. Let me know what you all think about this stuff, ideas, that sort of thing. Maybe even tips on how to sell it over the net.

Just realized that good lord... it's almost June. I did not think this year was going as fast as it was until I realized I was picking up my daughter today and that was the beginning of her summer vacation!

Still no luck on finding a permanent job, it's been Hell in this economy... expecially here in Arizona where 2/3 of the housing industry went belly up. I refuse to give into despair though... I have a daughter who is extremely talented and showing even more interest in art than before, which just makes this momma proud. My husband is as always a supportive and caring guy, so I know that there is nothing to fear with my love life. I just have to find something permanent in the career horizon. *sigh*

Doodling away to keep my mind sane, so expect to see a few more of my colorings and new dresses to show up some time within the next few months.

And heavens if I'm going to work out in Arzona's oven during it's hottest months... especially since we're having weird storms going through causing all sorts of lightning-induced accidents with microbursts and the like. It's like the Monsoon season 5 months early and coming with a vengeance... I do not like green lightning, and I espe3cially don't like odd random storms that throw friends' trampolines up onto their rooftops.

Okay that's about it for now... as updated as I'm gonna get for a while. Hugs to my peeps...

I just realized that it was the end of January of '09! SuperBowl is this Sunday and MY home team is there... wewt for the Cards! Also, Sunday is the final dress rehearsal for the Arizona Renaissance Festival, which I am an entertainer there so I am going to be pretty busy for the next two months, which might mean not much time on DArt. Daingnabbit.

Hopefully, I can start with a new job... lost my old job with Father in law the week before Christmas, so that's been a major cramp in my style... and this economy is hell for someone wanting a decent job *sighs*. What's a girl to do? Luckily for me, my dad owns the place I live in so he won't be kicking me out anytime soon, can't complain there.

To all the peeps who keep watching me, hi there! No, not dead... just dead in the water until I can get a decent paying job that's more than a few days temping somewhere. Miss you guys mucho and hope your holidays were peachy keen and full of sparkles!

Dood. What in the heck happened to this past year? I could have sworn it was just yesterday that I was putting on my pirate costume to go trick or treating with my daughter and friends! I sat down this morning to a cup of java and realized that it was the THIRD OF DECEMBER!

Now, I'm not panicking because oh gods, I don't have Yule presents for people... I'm a smart cookie that way... I shop all year round for Yule, but it was the realization that suddenly I was about to hit 2009 and I really haven't done anything this year except survive it.

Is that what my life has come down to? Just riding the rollercoaster of life and not participating in anything else? I mean, I DID lose a chunk of weight this year, like I had planned, so I don't feel bad about resolutions, but then... it was the only resolution I had made, so it wasn't like I had to worry about thirteen thousand other things to do or acomplish this year.

Maybe I'm just overwhelmed at the fact that in another month, my daughter is going to turn eight years old and I feel like I haven't been there for her enough as a mom... I mean, yeah I raised her for five years before she went to school and since then, I have been working hard to make sure that she is covered in all aspects, supplies and clothing wise... but I feel like I haven't been able to spend enough quality time with her to just... play.

So I think, with this epiphany, I am going to make a resolution to spend more time with my little girl this year. I need to be more than just a financial provider with her... I need to be a mother and just hang out with her.

Yeah. I kinda like that idea.
